pastors,

The time has come for the church to stand up

We can no longer stay silent. We can no longer remain insulated from one another as 'stand alone' churches.  The time has come for the faithful and believing church to find strength in unity and boldly call out the evil and anti biblical agenda being perpetrated upon our country.  For this has always been the role and duty of the church; we are the bearers of light. We uphold truth and the pursuit of righteousness no matter the cost, no matter the culture. The most precious liberties we hold at the highest value are at stake. Recognize this, dear church, and unite together to fulfill our calling to hold back the darkness and boldly forge ahead, seizing this profound opportunity of Independence for the sake of everything we hold dear all whilst declaring the Holiness and Righteousness of our God.
Silence in the face of evil is evil.  God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.  - Dietrich Bonhoffer

ALBERTA COALITION OF CHURCHES

DECLARATION OF FAITH

“Now it is high time that we awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than
when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast
off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light!” Romans 13:11-12

The church is called to be the salt and the light, Matthew chapter 5, that call is clear and
undeniable. It is a mandate that the church stand as the restraining force against the
evil and corruption of our world.
We as a Coalition of Churches are united in standing strong in this call and believe that
the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only answer to all that ails this world. Therefore we believe
that an independent and free Alberta will serve to provide the beachhead by which we the
church may boldly and courageously proclaim the gospel.
We believe for the sake of our families, our churches, our neighbours, and our future,
we must cast off the darkness and pursue the light. We have the opportunity set before us,
as did the founding fathers, to build a new and righteous land, where God and His word are
once again the foundation upon which we build. Where the home and family are once again
considered precious, where freedom and justice are cherished, where free speech is actually
free and uncensored, where the pursuit of blessing and opportunity is there for all to enjoy,
where God is honored and His word is upheld and obeyed, where life is protected from conception
to our final earthly breath. To that end we declare our support, our prayers, our faithful commitment
and our unified declaration of Alberta’s independence.

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek
My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive
their sin, and heal their land.” 2 nd Chronicles 7:14

Why is unity important for your mission?

We read in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10 that we are to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, putting on the whole armor of God that we might stand against the wiles of the devil. To that end we as the faithful church, must be united in the power of God if we are to stand and hold back the wave of evil that is already here amongst us. It is the call of the church to take that stand and as solid, faithful, churches we believe God by His power, by His Spirit, will begin to tear down the strongholds of evil that have come against up against us, and together we will work to rebuild strongholds that are now committed onto the Lord.

How can Pastors get involved?

First, by joining this coalition. Second, by including within the message box your personal position on Alberta’s independence from a biblical point of view. This will help to encourage and inform each of us as we go forward in this clear call of God. Third, we must be willing to speak to our church families about the importance and the consequences of independence. That we have the opportunity before us to do something that will bless our homes, families and communities, for generations to come. Fourth, to be willing to sacrifice time and resources for the pursuit of something that we believe to be so important. To be willing to host or participate in events that offer to the church or the community biblical perspectives on the importance of independence and the critical role of the church in the public square.
